Matt McHale is founding partner of Global DMS, a technology company in Upper Gwynedd. Global DMS provides Web-based appraisal management software used by mortgage brokers and real estate appraisers. McHale attributes the success of his company to another bubble burst, the real estate market of 2007. After the market imploded, the federal government created the Home Valuation Code of Conduct in an attempt to reduce fraud in the mortgage industry. This, in turn, created stricter guidelines for real estate agents and appraisers to follow. "With our system we made it easy for them to stay compliant with the new guidelines," he said. "Because of everything that happened, from the end of 2007 to now, we've doubled each year in sales."
