The Appraisal Foundation, according to Valuation Review, has begun its annual search for qualified candidates to serve on two of its boards – the Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB) and the Appraisal Standards Board (ASB).
Both boards typically have up to four in-person meetings per year, which last roughly two days on average. They also conduct several web or teleconference meetings per year during the months they don’t meet in-person. Those that serve are compensated for their time, and are reimbursed for their travel expenses.
The Appraisal Foundation is looking for business leaders from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds to fill these open positions. Those selected for a position on either the AQB or ASB will serve initial terms of 1-3 years beginning January 1, 2018.
In order to serve on the AQB, applicants must be familiar with the current appraiser qualifications and have a minimum of 10 years of appraisal experience. In order to serve on the ASB, applicants must be familiar with USPAP and its requirements.
The application deadline for both boards is August 21, 2017.
