Fannie Mae announced that it will be implementing Collateral Underwriter® (CU™) Version 4.0—which will provide a new, intuitive, and easy-to-use design and layout—during the weekend of December 10th. The application’s current functionality will remain the same, but its look and feel will be redesigned to provide lenders with an even more efficient appraisal review process.
Fannie’s CU updates were designed based on customer feedback to enhance and simplify the review process, and will touch upon the following: ‘Search/Home’ page, ‘Overview’ page, ‘Comparable Sales Review’ page, ‘Adjustment Analysis’ display, and specialty tools.
To see the specifics of these impending updates, check out the GSE’s official CU Version 4.0 Release Notes.
It’s important to note that there will be no changes to the application’s log-in URL link, and all User ID’s and Passwords will also remain the same. Following the implementation of CU Version 4.0, the new layout design will be instantly displayed as soon as a user logs-in. However, a drop-down menu option at the top of the screen will allow users to open the current (or “classic”) CU view in a new window, if desired.
Fannie Mae also noted that access to some of CU’s specialty tools will only initially be available in the classic CU view, but that these functionalities will be added to the new CU view sometime in 2017.
